C

Base year or baseline including rationale for choosing it

We determined 2013 as the most appropriate year to set our baseline as it was the most representative of our portfolio, both in terms of site footprint as well as data coverage.

A

Simon utilizes the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard as a guide to compile our GHG emissions inventory. “This GHG Protocol Corporate Standard provides standards and guidance for companies and other types of organizations preparing a GHG emissions inventory. It covers the accounting and reporting of the six greenhouse gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol — carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), methane (CH 4 ), nitrous oxide (N 2 O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6).” Therefore, we have not sought to include NOx or SOx as part of our inventory, nor do we believe it to be significant based on our current operations.
